Town Hall

The oldest part of the Town Hall is the Turm Rore (Rore Tower), the “Castle in the City”, which dates back to the 13th century. It was originally a fief of the Earl of Kyburg.

From 1515 the small castle has continually undergone rebuilding work to turn it into the Town Hall, and has since been greatly extended. Nowadays, it is still the seat of the city administration. On the corner to Zollrain you will see the bronze “Fährmann” statue (1955) by Alexander Zschokke.
